Sunday-Law Reform in Pittsburg
By Editor
SOMEHOW the wonderful moral influence of Sunday-law reformers, which has centered around Pittsburg, Pa., for the last three years or more, is not as effectual as its friends might hope for. The Christian Statesman, published in that city, in its issue of June 16 says:— “Pittsburg's first 'Sunday concert,' in Schenly Park, was given last sabbath evening. The Monday morning papers report an attendance of 40,000. Pittsburg under its present administration is rapidly moving to the front in the matter of sabbath desecration.” We suggest to our friend the Statesman that it would better move away. Pittsburg is worse now than when it went there, that is, measured by the Statesman's standard.
