The Christian Sentinel’s Duty

By Buddington

The sentinel picketed to watch the enemy, does his duty by giving the alarm if the enemy approaches—not by advancing single-handed to the conflict. So the duty of a Christian, watchfully discerning the approach of temptation, is to convey the case to God; it is foolhardiness to adventure into the combat unsent and unprovided for. —Buddington
