Limiting the Holy One of Israel

In describing the shortcomings of the Israelites in the wilderness, the statement is made that "they turned back and tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel." Ps. 78:41. How striking is the thought that by our sins and by our waywardness we "limit" the infinite God, who is seeking with all His divine power to work mightily in and through us! We can not be channels for this mighty power while harboring known sins. Sin obstructs in us the channels of power through which God desires to work. By sin we limit the Holy One of Israel.
