San Francisco Rejects Class Government
By Editor
The San Francisco primary election of September 26 resulted in the decided defeat of present mayor P. H. McCarthy, and the election of James Rolph, Jr., for mayor for the next four years, and during the Panama exposition. Mr. McCarthy and other candidates stood for class; Mr. Rolph for all the people. The other candidates elected are, generally speaking, in sympathy with the mayor elect. It is felt generally that this primary election is a triumph of progress and decency, and congratulations are coming in from all over the country and from over seas. Mr. McCarthy's administration is another demonstration that class government is always evil, whatever the class, whoever the governor.
