In Rev. 7:4 does the 144,000 include the righteous that have died before that time?

We do not so understand. They may include some of them. They include (see Rev. 14:1-5) those who have had the special experience described. In Bible numbering, generally the males only are reckoned. If this follows the same custom, there are women and children besides. It is not material. The beauty of the passage is that God will save His elect number, and no one is excluded thereby from salvation.
