A Friend of Sinners

The true charge which the enemies of Jesus brought against him was to his highest honor, and it revealed at the same time the selfishness of those who made it. That charge was, "This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them." He did receive them. He was "a friend of publicans and sinners." He is to-day. As of old, he will come to be a "guest with a man that is a sinner" if the heart is but opened to receive him. "What a friend we have in Jesus!" Tho father and mother forsake us, the Lord will take us up.
