3721 — Climate of Bethlehem
By Editor
What is the climate of Bethlehem? and could they be out in the fields at the Christmas season? R. R. T. The climate of Bethlehem, we are told by those who have been there, is somewhat similar to the climate in California — a little colder, perhaps, than in some sections of California, because a little higher, but similar to the same elevations in California. In the winter, we are told, it is quite cool on the hills and mountains surrounding Bethlehem, and quite frequently snow falls, tho it does not remain a long time. There might be times when the shepherds could watch their flocks in the field, but probably not at the last of December. It would seem, then, that the sheep would be folded at night. There are two seasons, as in California, also — the wet and the dry; and this would be at the very middle of the wet season.
