INCOME OF THE POPE.

THE Bible Echo, of Australia, quotes the following from a Catholic journal, showing the funds at the personal disposal of the pope:
"Pope Leo XIII. derives his revenue from three sources. One is the interest of the vast sum left by Pius IX. in the pontifical treasury invested chiefly in English consols. This interest amounts to £125,000 a year. Another source is the Peter's pence contribution, which, in spite of the very great reduction in late years, averages about £23,000 annually. The third source is the Apostolic Chancery, the receipts of which include sums received for titles and decorations, privileges of the altar, private chapels, etc., and aggregate about £104,000 a year. The entire annual income of Leo XIII., therefore, is about £252,000."
