THE first Karen convert to Christianity was Ko-thahbyu, whom Judson bought as a slave and kept three years before he was truly converted. Then his whole heart was given to God, and his life devoted to his people. Often he spent whole nights in prayer to God for his countrymen. His life was one of travail for the souls of the Karens, and God gave him much fruit.
