V. The Sabbath — Closing Hours

By Violet Miriam Beck
The Sabbath is almost done, With the golden rays of the setting sun Streaming through windows opened wide, By the organ's side Let us gather in loving throng, And sing from our "Christ in Song." Let us sing about God's love, The story we never are weary of. "I love to tell the story Of unseen things above, Of Jesus and His glory, Of Jesus and His love."
Perhaps, in the city heavenly, Our Jesus we shall see. In the holy place, We shall see His beautiful face, On a sacred day That will never pass away.
As twilight comes down over the fields, Once more let us kneel and pray, With a love that yields Thanks unto God for the rest and peace of the day, Dear loved ones, with a simple trust and sweet, Kneeling at Jesus' feet!
Steadfast and calm the lives in God's control. Through the storm's distress, They may anchor deep the soul In the One who has power to bless.
When away where the world does not understand, I know that loved ones pray That my soul may stay In the hollow of God's hand.
God bless the dear ones who keep Sabbath day!
