Low-Necked Dresses Condemned

The pastor of the Congregational Church at Traer, Iowa, has caused considerable agitation in his locality by denouncing the wearing of low-necked dresses in public. Speaking of its immodesty, he says: "Such dress is not ladylike, it is not respectable, and should be branded as unfit for public appearance. This kind of dress makes work for virtue, uprightness, and purity doubly hard." His statements are worthy of earnest consideration by all young women, mothers, and fashion makers and venders who love purity and virtue.
