AMERICA'S DRINK BILL FOR ONE YEAR

Few persons can comprehend these staggering figures. This is more than twice the cost of running our government, army and navy included. It would build twenty Lincoln Highways from San Francisco to New York, and place 800,000 automobiles, at $1,000 each, on the roads; or it would build 100,000 schoolhouses, at $2,000 each. If this money were in silver dollars, and were stacked in one pile, it would reach 3,156 miles high.
