Eruptions on the Sun.

Prof. Edwin B. Frost, of Yerkes Observatory, Wisconsin, reports violent eruptions from the sun, clearly visible at the edge of the disk. One eruption shot out 150,000 miles from the surface, detached itself from the main body, and sped through space. It disappeared about 250,000 miles from the sun. We are told that it is probably caused by release of pressure, but this is wholly conjectural. It is thought that recent brilliant auroral displays were caused by the sun disturbances.
