Japan’s Naval Expansion and Hawaiian Islands
Official notice has been given that a Japanese naval squadron, composed of one battle-ship and two armored cruisers, is about to make a voyage around the world, and will call at San15Francisco next spring. In connection with this it may also be said that report is that of the Japanese which are coming into the Hawaiian Islands are old experienced army and navy officers, and with them are coming thousands of others. Upon this doubtless is based the report that Japan sooner or later intends to seize the Hawaiian Islands, as she does also the Philippines.
