SAID the Protestant princes at the Diet of Spires, referring to religious disputes, "In such difficult matters we must act, not with the sword, but with the sure Word of God; for as Saint Paul says, 'What is not of faith is sin.' If therefore we constrain Christians to do what they believe unjust, instead of leading them by God's Word to acknowledge what is good, we force them to sin, and we incur a terrible responsibility." If all Christians and all men in authority understood this truth, and would act upon it, there would never again be religious persecution.—Bible Echo.
