PARTNERSHIP WITH GOD

TITHING our income for the benefit of the Lord's cause brings a divine consideration into all business that we do. To tithe our income so that the gospel cause gets a stated share makes God a partner in all our business affairs. And for this reason, we cannot engage in a calling which we would not ask God to bless, neither can we draw anything out of our business without accounting for it to God, our partner in business.

God ordained the tithe of man's income to be the financial support of gospel work, and it is the Lord's reserve fund for the most sacred purpose known under heaven. The man who uses it for his own business is charged by the Lord with robbing the treasury of heaven.

It is a grievous sin for a professed Christian deliberately to take the money that God decreed should be invested in soul-winning work, and use it in the ordinary business of the world, leaving the unsaved to perish without the light of life. WILLIAM COVERT.
