American Board Meeting in St. Louis

THE ninety-first annual meeting of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions convened at St. Louis, Mo., on October 10, and remained in session three days. The president of the board, in his opening address, declared that the real reason for the present uprising in China was the injustice of the great foreign nations in stealing their ports and territory, and the commercial progress, which had often selfishly and heartlessly run rough-shod over Chinese traditions, and which was depriving laborers in great numbers of their employment.
