PATIENCE.

A little girl once said, "Patience is to bide a wee and dinna weary."
"WHAT is patience?" once I asked Of a little Scottish maid. "To bide a wee, yet Dinna weary get— Is patience, sir," she said.
To bide a wee, the task seems light, But life-work tries us sore, And then we forget Half the task she set— To "weary not" forevermore.
But patience wins the promise-crown The Book says very clearly. So let us hold fast The wee maiden's task— "To bide a wee and dinna weary." EMMA S. BROMLEY.
