3327.—Change of Sabbath

Is it right to say that the Sabbath was changed by Christ when He came to this earth, or was changed at His resurrection? J. E. M.
In the first place there is no Bible statement or record of a change of the Sabbath by Christ or His apostles. The Sabbath is ever known by that name; the next day by the plain term "first day of the week," which came the next day after the Sabbath. Matt. 28:1; Mark 16:1, 2. In the second place, Jesus declares that the law in which the Sabbath is guarded can not be changed in one jot or tittle. Matt. 5:17-20; Luke 16:17. See "Is Sunday the Sabbath?"
