Judge Deady of the United States Court in Oregon has decided that a law of that State is illegal which forbids contractors employing Chinese on public works. If this decision is sustained, and we think from Judge Deady's reasoning that it must be, it will nullify a provision of the new Constitution of California, and one which aided much in its adoption.
