WE regret that we made the author of the article in last week's SIGNS appear to say what he did not say, namely, that a tunnel has been completed under Detroit River. There is a wide difference between a work contemplated and completed; but from present indications the statement will soon be true of the Hudson River at New York. The argument on our progress as a nation stands strong, for all must be aware that only a part of the evidences are given in these articles.
