Beecher’s Blasphemous Language

THE Monitor, San Francisco, quotes the statement of the Chronicle that Beecher's language last Sunday, as reported by telegram, was of such a blasphemous and indecent character that but few journals in the land would dare print it; and says: "We were sorry to see the horrible blasphemies published by the Bulletin. It is a sad use to be made of the telegraph and printing press, the noblest inventions of the age, thus to make them the means of disseminating such abominable utterances."
