Changed by Beholding

By C. P. BOLLMAN
"We all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Cor. 3 : 18.
As sin engraves its image on the face Of him in whom wrongdoing finds a place, So he who looks upon the pure, the kind, the good, Who finds in Jesus Christ his daily, necessary food, Who hungers thus for righteousness and longs for right, Is drawn thereby toward Him whose name is Light.
If, therefore, there be any pure, ennobling thought, If any good thy fellow man hath done, If any truth that might by thee be taught, And thereby e'en a single soul be won To higher, nobler, better life,— Think deeply, longingly of these, And oft be found in prayer upon thy knees. Then, as soars the eagle toward the sun, Thy soul shall seek and find the Eternal One.
