Lost their Mother.

In the allegory introduced by Paul, [Gal. iv,] Sarah, the free-woman, represents the New Jerusalem, while Agar, the bond-woman, represents Old Jerusalem. We should naturally suppose that the interests and affections of the children of the bond-woman would cluster around Old Jerusalem, as it would be very natural for the interests and affections of the children of the free-woman to center in the New Jerusalem, the mother of the children of promise. But how sad the reflection! Some poor children have seemed to lose sight of their Mother, and are turning to hunt up old Agar. J. W.
