BRO SMITH: We have been much blessed and encouraged by the visit of brother and sister White in this vicinity. They came to this place no doubt with the expectation of enjoying light and freedom. But in this they were disappointed. A dark cloud hung over the meeting for two or three days, which at times seemed almost impenetrable, and they had but little liberty in preaching the Word. But by earnest prayer and perseverance, they pressed through to the light side of the cloud, where the Lord was well pleased to manifest the gift of prophecy and expose the cause of the great darkness. This was a great relief to us, and we thanked God and took courage. G. W. HOLT.
