BRETHREN AND SISTERS : I feel that we need more faith, more zeal, more agonizing prayer, more of the spirit of confession, more holy living, more brotherly love, more confidence in God, and more confiding love to each other. Let us heed the counsel of the true Witness to the last church; let us get the eye-salve that we may see clearly, and be firmly established in the present truth. Let us add to our faith, virtue; and to virtue, knowledge; and to knowledge, temperance; and to temperance, patience; and to patience, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity; for if these things be in you and abound, they make you that ye shall be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But he that lacketh these things is blind (has not got the eye-salve) and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Let us put on the whole armor of God that we may be prepared to fight the good fight of faith, that we may overcome the world, our own besetments, and the devil, looking to Jesus our great Leader. That the Lord may help us to persevere unto the end, keeping the Commandments of God and the Faith of Jesus, that so an entrance may be given unto us abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, is the strong desire and prayer of your brother in the faith of Jesus.
