CHRISTIAN COMMUNION.

"Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." Words of Jesus.
Joyfully, joyfully, we will recline, Jesus, our Lord, on that promise of thine: "Where two or three shall together repair, Trusting my promise to meet them in prayer, I will be with them—my spirit impart— I will give comfort to each waiting heart." Joyfully, joyfully, we will recline, Jesus, our Lord, on that promise of thine!
Peacefully, calmly, we gather to pray, Resting at eve from the toils of the day; Though we are wayward, oh wilt thou not guide? Saviour, with thee we would ever abide! Hearer of prayer and inspirer art thou! Meet us while humbly before thee we bow! Peacefully, calmly, we gather to pray, Resting at eve from the toils of the day!
Pilgrims and strangers! Oh hear while we pray— Hear us, and send us not empty away! "Faint yet pursuing," our watchword shall be— Nearer, dear Saviour, still nearer to thee! Grant us thy presence—in thee we confide; Hast thou not promised to lead and to guide? Joyfully, joyfully, we will recline, Jesus, our Lord, on that promise of thine!—Sel.
