Tobacco.

THE Central Association of the Seventh-day Baptists convened in Brookfield, N. Y., June 12, 1879, passed the following resolution :—
"Whereas, the use of tobacco is a filthy and expensive habit, blunting to the physical and moral sensibilities; therefore, "Resolved, That we recommend all our people to abstain from its production, sale, and use; and to use all proper means to discountenance it in others."
We are much pleased to see our sister body of commandment keepers taking such action on this monster evil. We scarcely ever heard a more earnest appeal made on this subject than we heard from Dr. Hull, editor of the Sabbath Recorder, in the General Conference of the S. D. Baptists last fall. Success to the work of reform.
