The Name Seventh-day Adventists
Bro. T. H. Moffet writes from Huntsburgh, Ohio: "I am sorry that there have been such feelings in Ohio in regard to the name Seventh-day Adventists. I think it the most appropriate that could be given to us as a people, inasmuch as it shows at once to the inquirer what we believe. How many times I have felt the necessity of having an appropriate name by which we might be designated! I have often been asked what name we went by, and have been puzzled to know how to answer. O I would that I was more worthy to bear the name. I am not ashamed to own that I believe my Lord will soon return from the wedding. I have read Testimony No. 6, and am glad for such plain teaching. I am glad for the gift that is already in the church, and believe that the Lord is about to return to his people, and restore all the gifts that are designed for the perfecting of the saints."
