Instructions for Mailing Letters

We have two things to say to our careless friends worth remembering.
1. When you send letters to this Office, which weigh more than half an ounce, you should put on two three cent postage stamps. Some of you neglect to do this and in all such cases the law requires of us six cents, and we have to pay it, for it says, "If only partly pre-paid by stamps, double the unpaid balance will be charged and collected on delivery."
2. When you write to this Office on business requiring an answer, don't forget to inclose in your letter a postage stamp to take the reply back to you.
