Die to Self

Die to Self.—Live as near to Jesus as you possibly can, but die to self. It is a daily work. Jesus is as a sun that shines on the side of the mountain, and now and then a sunbeam comes over the top; we get a glimpse, a sort of twilight apprehension of the brightness of the sun; but self must be much more subdued before we can bask in the beams of the ever-blessed Jesus, or say in everything, “Thy will be done.”—Beveridge.
