Meetings in Minnesota.

BRO. WHITE: Pursuant to appointment, we met with the church at Pleasant Grove, and held four meetings, mostly with good interest. I tried to show them their lukewarm, undone condition, which was followed with heartfelt confessions, and the formation of new determinations to live more faithful in the future than they had in the past.
Last Sabbath, Aug. 20th, was a good day for the church in Oronoco. I preached in the morning from the following words, found in Luke xxi, 34: "Take heed to yourselves lest ye be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." In the afternoon I spoke of the wretched condition of the Laodiceans, Rev. iii, 14, which was followed by brethren and sisters with confessions and lively exhortations. After this Bro. Harlow, by permission of the church, resigned his position as Elder on account of his age and feebleness, and Bro. Hacket, formerly of Pennsylvania, was ordained to that office. We then repaired to the water, near by, and eight were baptized, all children of Sabbath-keepers, children too, that we believe will be an ornament to the church. In the evening we met to show the Lord's death, till he come. Fourteen were received into the church. Truly the good Spirit of the Lord was with us, and we were made happy because we knew these things and did them. John xiii, 17. Be hopeful, brethren. The cause is steadily rising in Minnesota. Amen.
ISAAC SANBORN. JOHN BOSTWICK. Oronoco, Aug. 22.
