Exhorting Prayers

EXHORTING PRAYERS.—Don't exhort when called on to pray. It is very well to exhort at proper times, and under proper circumstances. But when on your knees, ostensibly addressing Jehovah, it is not the time to exhort. Stand up on your feet and look at the audience, and talk right to them, if you have anything to say to them; but when you pretend to pray, pray.
