Watch.

By S. Elmer

WATCH, Christian, watch! for there's danger around thee, Legions of spirits thy progress oppose; Then look unto Him who once went before thee, He is able and willing to conquer thy foes.
Watch, Christian, watch! for the Master is coming, And bids thee be ready to hail him with joy; Then those who've been faithful will share in his glory, While all of the wicked of earth he'll destroy.
Watch, Christian, watch! for the day-star has risen, Soon will the morning all glorious come, When thou shalt rest, sweetly rest from thy labor, And the angels in Heaven will welcome thee home.
Then be of good cheer for thy home is preparing, And crowns of bright glory are waiting for thee. Soon the clear light of Heaven will burst on thy vision, And sin, death, and sorrow forevermore flee. S. ELMER. Ashfield, Mass.
