P. S. It may be duty to state that if any of our friends should attend the discussion at Portland, it would be safest for them to go prepared to care for themselves, in part at least, because there are but a few families of our friends in the city, and they are generally in quite limited circumstances. They will provide for preachers, and as many others as they can. I know their will is good. M. E. C.
