2 Chronicles 35:1

Moreover Josiah kept a passover unto the LORD in Jerusalem: and they killed the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.

Josiah kept a Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and the Passover was killed on the fourteenth day of the first month. That keeping of the Passover was a religious revival that brought a revival of hope. The revival was accompanied by missionary endeavor, showing that renewed spiritual life leads those who receive it to share its blessings with others.

Josiah's reign marks the last time the people kept the Lord's commandments and statutes. After his reign they no longer kept the release years or Jubilees. The revival came just before Israel's final plunge into idolatry and sin, and it was followed by an even more hopeless apostasy.
