2 Kings 10:1

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,

Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria, and Jehu wrote letters and sent to Samaria, to the rulers and elders of the city, including those who had brought up Ahab's children. This sending begins the carrying out of Jehu's commission to destroy the house of Ahab. That destruction was a judgment upon the house for its wickedness and for its persecution of the Lord's servants.

Jehu's dealing with Samaria's rulers and elders about Ahab's children warns against letting self rise up in a torrent of words that are unfitting and ungentle. Words meant to advance a cause will fail to revive souls and to win souls when they lack tenderness.
