2 Kings 8:1

Then spake Elisha unto the woman, whose son he had restored to life, saying, Arise, and go thou and thine household, and sojourn wheresoever thou canst sojourn: for the LORD hath called for a famine; and it shall also come upon the land seven years.

The verse stands in the first twelve chapters of 2 Kings, the portion dealing with Elijah and Elisha. It displays the noble, godly life of Elisha, by whose hand God wrought noted miracles and by whom backsliding Israel was reproved and instructed. It records his warning to the Shunammite woman whose son he had restored to life years earlier, telling her that the Lord had called for a famine of seven years upon the land and bidding her to arise with her household and sojourn wherever she could sojourn.

The warning protected her and her household from the famine. During her absence her home was taken, but on her return her property was restored to her as told in verses 2-6, the Lord moving the king to restore it.
