Deuteronomy 18:1
The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance. The priests the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.
Deuteronomy is the fifth and last book of the Pentateuch. It is called the second law, meaning a duplicate of the law. Within that book, chapters 5 to 26 review the law through Moses for the new generation just before his death. The verse falls in the portion spanning chapters 18 to 21.
The priests, the Levites, and all the tribe of Levi were to have no territorial part or inheritance among Israel. Their provision was to eat the offerings of the Lord made by fire and His inheritance. The chapter containing the verse holds a direct prophecy of Jesus Christ.
