Psalms 52:1

Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

Psalm 52 stands as one of David's songs of thanksgiving to God for deliverance from personal enemies. Its opening rebuke is addressed to the mighty man who boasts in wrongdoing. Against that boasting is set the abiding reality of divine goodness.

That goodness is nothing less than God's glory. It endures continually, without interruption or failure. It is directed toward His people in the present time. It extends with them all the way into all eternity.
