Inspiring Absolute Surrender: Leading Others to God and Christ
How can I guide young people away from worldly deceptions?
The devil lies to people, deceiving them into following the world and breaking God's laws thereby bringing them into bondage to pain, suffering, and death. Jesus can break those bonds and offers to bring freedom, love, joy, and peace, but to do that God requires total commitment, absolute surrender and perfect obedience. According to the writings of Ellen White, what can I say or do to help others believe this so that they desire to fully commit to following God and rejecting the lies of Satan?
AdventAI
Of course! You can effectively help others desire a full commitment to God by being a living example of Christ's love, sharing your personal testimony, and consistently lifting up Jesus and the cross as the source of all hope and power.
Here are some key things you can say and do to inspire others to fully follow God and reject the lies of Satan:
Be a Living Example of Christ's Love 🙏
Your actions are a powerful testimony. Before you speak a word, your life can show others what the gospel can do for a fallen human being.
Live a Holy Life: Let your consecrated, holy life have a powerful influence to convict the world. Let your example lead your friends and family heavenward. Follow the Savior in His simplicity and self-denial.
Reflect Christ's Character: The character of your work is determined by the fruit you bear. When you represent the character of Jesus in your home life and are faithful in the little things, you are precious in the sight of God.
Practice Self-Denial: A religious life should be in marked contrast to a life of worldliness and pleasure-seeking. Daily, you must learn the meaning of self-surrender.
Share Your Personal Testimony 🗣️
Your warm, fervent words about your own experience can convince others that you have found the pearl of great price.
Tell Your Story: Tell people how you found Jesus and how blessed you have been since gaining an experience in His service.
Speak of the Joy in Christ: Share the gladness and joy that comes from the Christian life and from learning precious lessons from His Word. This is genuine missionary work, and as it is done, many will awaken as from a dream.
Lift Up Jesus and the Cross ✝️
The central focus of your message should always be Christ and His ultimate sacrifice.
Put Self Out of Sight: What all workers need is to make an entire surrender to God, and, putting self out of sight, lift up the Man of Calvary.
The Cross is the Call to Surrender: From the cross of Calvary, Christ calls for an unconditional surrender. His entire life was a call to self-surrender and to fellowship in suffering.
The Cross is the Ultimate Argument: The cross of Calvary is the doctrine and the all-powerful argument. It was an infinite sacrifice, a priceless gift for the sins of the world.
Explain the Need for Entire Surrender ❤️🩹
Help others understand that a partial commitment is not enough and that true peace is found only in complete surrender.
Define True Holiness: True holiness is wholeness in the service of God. It is an unreserved consecration and an undivided service; Christ demands the heart, the mind, the soul, and the strength.
Surrender is Essential for Salvation: Being "almost but not wholly saved, means to be not almost but wholly lost". Without absolute surrender of self, the contest against sin is hopeless. Self-surrender is the very substance of the teachings of Christ.
Surrender Brings Peace: Many have anxious, troubled hearts because they are afraid to trust themselves with God. They shrink from the consequences of a complete surrender, but unless they make this surrender, they cannot find peace. Rest is found when all self-justification and reasoning from a selfish standpoint are put away.
Surrender Enables the Holy Spirit: We cannot receive the Holy Spirit until we break every yoke that binds us to our objectionable traits of character. God calls for an entire surrender.
Pray for Divine Help and the Holy Spirit 🙏🕊️
This work cannot be done in your own strength. It requires divine power.
God Provides Assistance: God does not ask us to do the work in our own strength; He provides divine assistance for all emergencies and gives the Holy Spirit to help in every strait.
Angels Are Waiting to Help: Heavenly angels wait with almost impatient eagerness for our cooperation, for man must be the channel to communicate with man. When brought in contact with the powers of darkness, angels of God will be right by your side.
Pray Constantly: Feeble, sinful mortals should feel the necessity of fervent, constant prayer, imitating the great Exemplar, Jesus.
Warn Against Disobedience with Tenderness 💖
While it's important to warn people about the dangers of sin, it must always be done with a spirit of love and pity.
Hate the Sin, Love the Sinner: We should cherish a hatred of sin, but pity and love for the sinner.
Sin is Disobedience: It is not the greatness of the act of disobedience that constitutes sin, but the variance from God's expressed will in the least particular. Sin is the transgression of the law 1 John 3:4.
Follow Christ's Example: The divine Teacher bears with the erring through all their perversity. His love does not grow cold; His efforts to win them do not cease. We are to give faithful warnings and rebuke sin, but always in the spirit of Christ.
By embracing these principles in your own life and sharing them with love, you can be a powerful instrument in God's hands to lead others to a life of full and joyful surrender to Him.

How can I do this especially for young people who are drawn to the devil's attractions and deceptions of the world?
AdventAI
Of course! You can guide young people away from worldly attractions by presenting the superior joys of a heavenly life, providing a safe and uplifting environment, and teaching them to find strength and guidance in God's Word 🙏.
Satan works with masterful skill to tempt and deceive the young, but you can be a powerful influence for good by helping them see the true nature of his deceptions and the loveliness of Christ.
Here are specific ways you can help young people choose God over the world's allurements:
✨ Present a More Powerful Attraction
Worldly pleasures lose their power when compared to the glories of heaven and the beauty of Christ. Your goal is to help young people fix their minds on things of eternal value.
Focus on Heavenly Things: Encourage youth to dwell on Christ and the heavenly world. When their affections are set on God, worldly attractions will have no power to allure them from their allegiance. The earthly attractions will fade away as the heavenly win and charm the soul.
Make Religion Attractive: Show them that a life with Christ is one of peace and happiness, not of gloom. Genuine Christianity means bearing a cross, but it is the truest freedom, and God's law becomes a delight.
Teach the Value of their Souls: Help them understand that no earthly attraction or worldly possession can compensate for the loss of their heavenly inheritance. To be almost but not wholly saved means to be wholly lost.
🏡 Create a Safe and Supportive Environment
Many young people drift into evil because they lack a positive, uplifting home life. Your home and your personal interest can be a refuge for them.
Make Your Home a Refuge: Your home should be a place of refuge for tempted youth. Surround them with cheering, helpful influences, and many will gladly turn their steps into the upward path.
Show Genuine Sympathy: Young people need a hand stretched out to them in sympathy. Kind words and small, simple attentions can sweep away the clouds of temptation that gather over the soul. The true expression of heaven-born sympathy has the power to open the doors of their hearts.
📖 Guide Them to the Word of God
The Bible is the ultimate guide for a pure life and the surest defense against deception.
The Bible is Their Guide: The answer to the question, "Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?" is, "By taking heed thereto according to Thy word". A young person who makes the Bible their guide need not mistake the path of duty and safety.
Provide Proper Reading: It is very important that young people have the proper class of reading. Avoid books that delineate the satanic practices of human beings or have a satanic fascination, as they give publicity to evil works and can destroy the soul.
⚠️ Warn Them with Love and Earnestness
Young people must be warned about Satan's specific tactics and the perilous nature of sin.
Don't Venture on Forbidden Ground: Satan tells the young there is time enough to change and that they can indulge in sin "just this once," but that one indulgence can poison their whole life. Do not once venture on forbidden ground.
Innocent Amusements Can Separate from God: Many young people unite with the world in attending picnics and other gatherings for pleasure, thinking they are engaging in innocent amusement. Yet it is just such indulgences that separate them from God and make them children of the world.
Abstain from Fleshly Lusts: Peter's admonition to abstain from fleshly lusts is a direct warning against stimulants and narcotics like tea, coffee, tobacco, and alcohol, which exert a pernicious influence on moral character. The heart cannot maintain consecration to God while lustful appetite is indulged.
By consistently pointing young people to Christ, surrounding them with love, and grounding them in the truth of God's Word, you can help them overcome the deceptions of the enemy and choose a life of eternal value.
