Ellen G. White on Christian Involvement in Politics
Should Christians remain silent on political questions?
EGW quotes about being involved in politics
AdventAI
Followers of Christ are called to stand as a separate and peculiar people, maintaining a sacred distance from the political strife and party spirit of the world. The Lord desires His people to bury political questions, as silence on these themes is considered eloquence in the eyes of Heaven. It is not safe for believers to vote for political parties or engage in political schemes, because doing so can lead to division within the church and provide the enemy an opportunity to cause discord. Those appointed to educate, such as ministers and teachers, have no battles to fight in the political world, for their citizenship is in heaven and their time belongs to the work of God. Mingling with the contending elements of politics is compared to the uncircumcised mingling with the circumcised, a course that God will ultimately condemn. True Christian influence is lost when it is united with politics or bound up in confederacies with unbelievers, as this dims spiritual discernment and dishonors the Creator. Instead of talking or acting politics, the people of God should be focused on the pure gospel principles and the special message of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus Revelation 14:12. Engaging in political controversy or involving oneself in questions like the currency is a burden the Lord has not laid upon His servants. The mingling of church craft and state craft, represented by the iron and clay in prophecy, only serves to weaken the power of the churches. Our duty is to link our arms with the arm of Christ and reveal a character that recommends the Master through practical Christianity and soul-saving labor.

They are not to link their interests with the interests of the world. “Give proof of your allegiance to Me” He says, “by standing as My chosen heritage, as a people zealous of good works.” Do not take part in political strife.
