• Doing the Father's Will: Merely professing the name of the Lord is insufficient; entrance into the kingdom of heaven is reserved for those who actually do the will of the Father Matthew 7:21FW 49.2.

• Spiritual Effort: Just as physical labor is necessary to earn temporal food, spiritual effort is required to obtain the bread of eternal life 2 Thessalonians 3:10FW 49.2. Spiritual nourishment does not come to the indifferent; we must make active efforts to receive itFW 49.2.

Living in a Solemn Period

• Satan's Intense Work: Knowing his time is short, Satan is working with all his power to gain victory over usFW 49.3.

• Diligent Watchfulness: We should follow the example of Paul, who worked out his salvation with fear and trembling, lest we prove ourselves unworthy of eternal life Philippians 2:12FW 49.3. It is vital to watch unto prayer and strive with agonizing effort to enter the strait gateFW 49.3.

No Excuse for Indolence

• A Perfect Example: There is absolutely no excuse for sin or laziness, as Jesus has personally led the way and invites us to follow in His footstepsFW 49.4.

• Divine Power Provided: Jesus sacrificed more than any human can comprehend to bring salvation within our reachFW 49.4.
