Evangelism: Proclaiming the Final Message of Mercy

How does medical missionary work serve as the gospel's helping hand?

Evangelism is the aggressive and sacred work of proclaiming the last message of mercy to a perishing world, combining the power of the gospel with practical medical missionary labor to save souls. This work is not merely a duty but a privilege that requires every believer to act a part, reaching out into the highways and byways to find those who have not yet heard the truth.

The Spirit of Evangelistic Labor 🕊️

  • Aggressive Warfare: Our work is not to be tame or timid; instead, we must make a charge against the enemy with force and decision.

  • Urgency: Because time is short and the day of redemption draweth nigh, we must work diligently to urge the truth upon the conscience.

  • Consecration: Those who stand in the sacred desk or enter the field must be blameless and walk and talk with God to represent Christ effectively.

  • Refuge in Christ: The aim of every minister should be to hide self in Jesus, pointing sinners to the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

Methods of Reaching the People 🗺️

  • Two by Two: Following the Lord's plan, workers should be sent out at least two by two when opening new fields.

  • Medical Missionary Work: This is the "helping hand" of the gospel, using health education, restaurants, and treatment rooms to reach people who otherwise would not be impressed with the truth.

  • Literature Ministry: Canvassing is God's means of reaching varied minds, placing books and periodicals in homes to sow the light of truth broadcast throughout the world.

  • City Missions: There is a heavy responsibility to work the great cities of America with determined energy, establishing training schools and centers of influence.

  • Diverse Classes: We must perform unselfish missionary work for the downtrodden, the uneducated, and the neglected classes in the South and elsewhere.

Training and Mobilization 🎓

  • Training the Youth: Schools should prepare students to be missionary nurses, canvassers, evangelists, and ministers.

  • Church Cooperation: Ministers should not do all the work alone but should organize and lead bands of young evangelists, giving every member a part to act.

  • Women in Ministry: Women who labor in the gospel are to be encouraged, and those who work with their husbands in the field should be paid for their services.

  • Completing the Work: It is a mistake to leave a field in an unfinished state; the work must be bound off thoroughly so that new believers are not left to the buffeting of Satan.

The Final Warning 📢

The mission is to give the last warning to the world, which involves the second angel's message and the call to "Come out of her, My people" Revelation 18:4-5. The commission given by Christ is to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature Mark 16:15. We must be zealous in spreading the light, for the line will soon be clearly drawn between the false and the true. Those who have once felt the force of truth but turn away face a sorer punishment for doing despite to the Spirit of grace Hebrews 6:6.
