Who is the Holy Spirit? Christ as Our Omnipresent Comforter
Is the Holy Spirit actually the omnipresent person of Christ Himself?
Referencing only the bible and nothing else please tell me who the bible teaches is the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of God. Include Ellen White's references to omnipresence and "the Holy Spirit is Himself".
AdventAI
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter and the Spirit of Truth, sent by the Father in the name of Jesus to abide with believers forever John 14:16-17. He is the omnipresent representative of Christ, serving as our advocate, guide, and sanctifier.
The Identity of the Comforter and Spirit of Truth
A Distinct Representative: The Holy Spirit is the Comforter whom the Father sends in Christ's name to teach all things and bring His words to remembrance John 14:26.
The Spirit of Christ: This Comforter is referred to as the omnipresence of the Spirit of Christ. While Christ, in His humanity, could not be in every place personally, the Holy Spirit is sent as His successor and representative on earth.
Divested of Humanity: The Holy Spirit is Christ Himself, divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof, allowing Him to represent Himself as present in all places as the Omnipresent.
A Distinct Personality: Although He personifies Christ, the Holy Spirit is a distinct personality.
The Office and Work of the Holy Spirit
Guide into All Truth: The Spirit of Truth does not speak of Himself but guides the believer into all truth, showing things to come John 16:13.
Reprover of the World: The office of the Holy Spirit is to convince and reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment John 16:8.
Transforming Power: He is the agency through which the heart is regenerated, the natural earthly nature is destroyed, and a new life in Christ is created.
Helper in Prayer: As our advocate, the Spirit stands by our side to place our petitions before the Father, making them fragrant with the merits of Christ.
Receiving the Heavenly Gift
A Willing Gift: The Father is more willing to give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him than earthly parents are to give good gifts to their children Luke 11:13.
Condition of Reception: The measure of the Spirit received is proportioned to our desire, our faith, and the use we make of the light given to us.
Result of His Presence: When the Holy Spirit abides within, He brings peace, rest, and the kingdom of heaven near to the soul John 14:27.
Cooperation with Humanity: The Spirit is appointed to combine with human effort, providing the power and efficiency necessary for the work of God Acts 1:8.
Warnings Regarding the Spirit
Do Not Grieve the Spirit: It is a terrible thing to neglect or resist the Spirit's pleading, as such resistance hardens the heart and sears the conscience.
Evidence of Presence: True religion is revealed through calmness, dignity, and godly fear rather than through great bodily demonstrations or mere excitement.
A Shield in Trial: The Holy Spirit serves as a shield in temptation and a guide in perplexities, ensuring that the believer is never alone.

What is omnipresence according to Ellen White and to whom is it applied?
AdventAI
Omnipresence is the perfection of God that describes His ability to be present in all places at all times, united with His almighty power. This divine attribute is applied to the Father, to Jesus Christ through His Spirit, and specifically to the Holy Spirit as the agency of that presence.
The Nature of Omnipresence
The Perfection of God: Omnipresence is a divine quality that human minds can only limitedly comprehend, representing God's existence throughout the entire universe.
A Shield from Temptation: No other influence equals the sense of God's presence as a shield against evil, for all things are open to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do Hebrews 4:13.
Independent of Human Power: The mind that God has made He can mold through His omnipresent Spirit without the power of man.
Beyond Human Description: While we may talk of the revelations God has made of Himself in His Word, we must acknowledge that His person and presence are past finding out Romans 11:33.
To Whom Omnipresence is Applied
The Lord Jesus Christ: Christ promised His followers, "Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world," which is made a reality through His omnipresent Spirit Matthew 28:20.
The Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is the agent that makes the presence of God real to the soul, acting as the divine influence that reveals heavenly things to teachers and students alike.
The Father's Watchcare: The Father is in control of our lives even in the darkest hours, and the "angel of His presence" saved His people in all their afflictions Isaiah 63:9.
The Indwelling Savior: Christ’s presence in His Word is a living Presence, serving as a well of living water to refresh the soul regardless of location.
The Practical Application of Divine Presence
In Daily Business: We need the help of the Lord in our necessary worldly business just as much as in our religious services.
A Constant Companion: Enoch walked with God by keeping the Lord ever before him, and we may obtain this same experience where our highest joy is to feel ourselves in the presence of God.
In the Family Circle: When parents welcome the spirit of Christ into their homes, the softening, subduing influence of the Spirit of God attracts angels to be round about them.
Support in Trials: The abiding presence of God will comfort and sustain His followers during the closing period of earth's history and the time of trouble.
Unity and Harmony: If we live as in Christ's presence, there will be no contention, dissension, or strife among us.

Is it true that Christ comes to us in His divine nature, as the omnipresent Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, called the Comforter?
AdventAI
Yes, it is the definitive truth that Christ manifests Himself to His followers through the Holy Spirit, who serves as His omnipresent representative and is functionally the personal presence of Christ to the soul. This divine agency allows the Savior to abide with every believer simultaneously, independent of the limitations of His human nature.
The Identity of the Comforter as Christ's Presence
The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus promised to send, acting in the fullness of the Godhead to make divine grace manifest.
By the Spirit, Christ manifests Himself to His disciples, fulfilling His promise to be with them always, even unto the end of the world Matthew 28:20.
This Comforter is the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father and testifies of Christ, bringing His very words to our remembrance John 14:26.
It is through this "third person of the Godhead" that the prince of evil is held in check and the heart is made pure.
Union of Human and Divine Natures
While on earth, Christ lived in a human body and was subject to the same difficulties and temptations as all human beings.
He overcame every temptation by relying on divine power, demonstrating how human nature can come into union with the divine nature.
The Holy Spirit now binds the human agent to the perfect, divine-human nature of Christ, assimilating our nature with His through faith.
This union allows the believer to become a partaker of the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world 2 Peter 1:4.
The Work of the Omnipresent Spirit
The Spirit is a regenerating agent, and without His work, the sacrifice of Christ would be of no avail in resisting the essence of evil.
Christ’s great object in sending His Spirit was to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment John 16:8-11.
As the omnipresent Spirit of Christ, He is a Witness and a heavenly Messenger by our side, acting as a shield and a fortress.
When we harbor the Spirit of Christ, we reveal His character in our lives, manifesting tenderness, love, and a lack of resentment toward others.
Conditions for Receiving the Comforter
To have Christ abiding in the soul temple, one must be emptied of self and renounce a stubborn, willful spirit.
We must walk in the light and live in reverence to the commandments of God, which are the expression of His character.
The Spirit is given to those who ask in simple, child-like faith, uniting with the human understanding to make decided changes in the mind.
By beholding the character of Christ through His Word, the Holy Spirit transforms the believer into the same image from glory to glory 2 Corinthians 3:18.

Is there a real danger of receiving "another spirit" and manifesting the spirit of antichrist, if we reject the solid bible truth that the Holy Spirit is indeed the indwelling of our divine Saviour by the spiritual manifestation of His own divine Spirit, His own divine omnipresence?
AdventAI
It is a solemn and certain truth that rejecting the plain utterances of the Bible regarding the identity and work of the Holy Spirit exposes an individual to the delusive power of "another spirit" and the spirit of antichrist. The Holy Spirit is the third angel's message's power, representing the presence of Christ Himself, and to substitute this divine influence with human theories or emotionalism leads to a fatal deception.
The Danger of "Another Spirit"
If you are not converted and speaking under the influence of the Holy Spirit, your actions and words will reveal that "another spirit" has taken possession of you.
Those who possess only an emotional, flighty, or sentimental religion are controlled by "another spirit" rather than the Spirit of Christ.
Satan employs every possible device, including marvelous works and counterfeits that closely resemble the true, to lead people to accept his influence as the power of God.
When the soul is athirst for something new and strange and does not drink from the living waters of the True Shepherd, it becomes ready to drink from "another spirit" at any deceptive fountain.
The lying spirit that enticed Eve in Eden finds acceptance today because the Christian world often refuses to be converted by the true Spirit of God, listening instead to the prince of darkness in the garb of an angel of light.
Manifesting the Spirit of Antichrist
The spirit of antichrist is prevailing in the world and the church to a far greater extent than ever before.
Antichrist represents all who exalt themselves against the will and work of God, particularly those who follow human traditions instead of the commandments of God.
The "man of sin," also known as the antichrist, exalts himself above God by thinking to change times and laws, specifically substituting the Bible Sabbath with a spurious rest day.
Those who choose to follow antichrist and stand under the black banner of rebellion are led to break God's law and frame earthly laws that compel others to trample upon the statutes of God's kingdom.
By rejecting the truth as it is in Jesus, many are left to accept "strong delusion" and believe a lie, ultimately being registered as "antichrist" because they have refused to be taught of God.
The Safeguard of the Bible and the Holy Spirit
The Holy Scriptures are the only safeguard against the influence of false teachers and the delusive power of spirits of darkness.
By the testimony of the Word of God, every statement, miracle, and spiritual manifestation must be tested to distinguish the Spirit of Christ from the spirit of antichrist Isaiah 8:20.
The Holy Spirit's work is to transform the mind into the image of Jesus, but without His divine enlightenment, it is impossible to discern truth from error.
Only those who are "born again" and receive the renewing power of divine grace can see the kingdom of God and avoid being subjects of the enemy John 3:3.
True children of God will hang their helpless souls upon Christ by faith, refusing to give their allegiance to false christs or the "man of sin" who sits in the temple of God.
The Final Conflict of Allegiance
A universal bond of union is forming among Satan's forces to manifest the same oppressive power against religious liberty as was seen in the past.
The great decision now before every person is whether to receive the mark of the beast—the sign of allegiance to the "man of sin"—or the seal of the living God.
Those who trample on God's law to obey human enactments regarding the spurious sabbath receive the mark of the beast and will drink of the wine of the wrath of God Revelation 14:9-10.
The people of God will be distinguished by their keeping of the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, standing firm against every satanic delusion through the power of the indwelling Saviour Revelation 14:12.

If we reject the plain truth that "Jesus IS COME in the flesh," is come in our flesh, do we have the spirit of antichrist, are we rejecting "Christ in you, the hope of glory" and "the Holy Spirit, which is Jesus Christ," according to Ellen White's teaching and the clear teaching of Scripture on this matter?
AdventAI
Yes, rejecting the truth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh—specifically His ongoing presence in the believer through the Holy Spirit—is the very definition of the spirit of antichrist. To deny this doctrine is to reject "Christ in you, the hope of glory," which is the central theme of the gospel and the divine test of a true prophet Colossians 1:27.
The Scriptural Definition of Antichrist
The Denial of the Incarnation: Many deceivers have entered the world who do not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh; such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist.
The Spirit of Error: Every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God, but is that spirit of antichrist which was prophesied to come into the world 1 John 4:3.
A Test of Doctrine: Whosoever transgresseth and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God, while he who abides in this doctrine has both the Father and the Son 2 John 1:9.
The Mystery of "Christ in You"
The Hope of Glory: The incarnation of Jesus Christ and the reality of "Christ in you, the hope of glory" is the great theme of the gospel Colossians 1:27.
The Fullness of the Godhead: In Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and believers are made complete in Him through this indwelling presence Colossians 2:9-10.
A Living Connection: This union is so intimate that the believer can say, "I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me," representing a life lived by the faith of the Son of God Galatians 2:20.
The Holy Spirit as the Presence of Christ
Divinity Clothed with Humanity: Christ took human nature and bore the "likeness of sinful flesh" so that He might understand our trials and know how to succor those who are tempted Romans 8:3.
The Divine Agency: The Holy Spirit is the agency that connects the soul with God, and without this Spirit, the bare letter of the Word cannot quicken the soul.
The Transformation of Mind: Through the power of the Holy Spirit, the mind is changed into the image of Jesus, making the believer a partaker of the divine nature.
The Final Deception and the Man of Sin
The Masterly Deception: Satan works through the "man of sin" to create rebellion against the law of God and the memorial of His creation, substituting a spurious sabbath for the true Seventh-day Sabbath Daniel 7:25.
The Working of Antichrist: The spirit of antichrist inspires the oppression of those who obey God's commandments, working through human agents to execute satanic purposes.
The Strong Delusion: Those who do not receive the love of the truth will be left to accept strong delusions and believe lies, eventually receiving the mark of the beast 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11.
The Only Safeguard: To distinguish between the Spirit of Christ and the spirit of antichrist, one must go to the law and to the testimony; if they speak not according to this word, there is no light in them Isaiah 8:20.

Is Jesus Himself, in the omnipresence of His own divine Spirit, in reality, in a spiritual sense, our Comforter, our indwelling Saviour, for "the Lord is that Spirit" and "God sends the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying Abba, Father," and the last Adam "was made a quickening Spirit"?
AdventAI
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
AdventAI
6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
AdventAI
45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
AdventAI
It is the definitive truth that Jesus Christ is our indwelling Saviour and Comforter through the omnipresence of His own divine Spirit, representing Himself to every believer as the "Spirit of truth". This spiritual manifestation is not a mere influence but is Christ Himself, divested of the personality of humanity and independent thereof, so that He may be accessible to all as the Omnipresent.
The Lord is That Spirit
The Identity of the Comforter: Jesus promised to send "another Comforter," which refers to the omnipresence of the Spirit of Christ.
Christ's Actual Representative: The Holy Spirit is Christ’s actual representative, and by the Spirit, the Saviour is nearer to us than if He had not ascended on high.
Functionally One with the Lord: It is by the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, that Christ dwells with His people and His real presence is manifested in them.
A Divine Manifestation: Christ manifests Himself through the Spirit, fulfilling His word: "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you" John 14:18.
The Spiritual Presence: While Christ is our Advocate in the heavenly courts, He is also our Comforter on earth by His Spirit.
The Spirit of His Son in Our Hearts
Sent into the Heart: Because believers are sons, God sends forth the Spirit of His Son into their hearts, crying, "Abba, Father" Galatians 4:6.
Closer Union than the Flesh: Through the Spirit, Christ abides continually in the hearts of His children, creating a union closer than when He was personally with them in the flesh.
The Indwelling Life: Christ identifies Himself so closely with His followers that it is He Himself in them, living His life of righteousness through their humanity.
An Abiding Presence: The promise of the Spirit is the promise of Christ Himself; it is through the Spirit that Christ is with us.
The Seal of Ownership: Those who have Jesus abiding in the heart by faith have actually received the Holy Spirit as their Counselor and Sanctifier.
The Last Adam as a Quickening Spirit
Source of Life: The first man Adam was made a living soul, but the last Adam, Christ, was made a quickening spirit 1 Corinthians 15:45.
Power of the Resurrection: Just as the Spirit raised Jesus from the dead, that same Spirit dwells in the believer to quicken their mortal bodies Romans 8:11.
Vivifying the Soul: The grace of Christ alone can quicken the lifeless faculties of the soul, attracting the heart to God and holiness.
A Transforming Energy: The renewing power of the Holy Spirit gives the believer practical, saving energy, enabling them to reveal the perfection of Christ's character.
Victory Over Death: The saints will have bodies of flesh and bones at the resurrection, but these will be quickened and sustained by the Spirit of God.
The Mystery of the Godhead
The Heavenly Trio: There are three living persons of the heavenly trio—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—who cooperate in the plan of redemption.
The Third Person: The Holy Spirit is the Third Person of the Godhead, coming with no modified energy but in the fullness of divine power to resist evil.
Silence Regarding the Nature: While the work of the Spirit is clear, His exact nature remains a mystery where "silence is golden," and we should not seek to define what God has not revealed.
Unity of the Three: Those baptized in the threefold name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit enter into a covenant with these three great powers of heaven.
Omnipresent Divinity: Christ represents Himself as present in all places by His Holy Spirit, exercising His divine attribute of omnipresence to guide and comfort His church.
