It is truly wonderful to understand the various ways we are encouraged to praise God for His divine guidance! 🙏 Our praise often comes from recognizing His active involvement in our lives, whether through direct intervention, wise counsel, or the blessings He bestows.

Here are some contexts in which we are called to praise God for His guidance:

Acknowledging Divine Leading

Praising God for His guidance is a natural response when we see His hand at work. When success crowns our efforts, especially after we have committed to His will, we should recognize that His hand was surely in it. This applies equally to reverses, as all things, whether good or bad, work together for the good of those who love God. Our every experience, from overcoming spiritual bondage to being delivered from impossible situations, is an opportunity for continuous praise.

Guidance Through His Word

The Bible is an indispensable source of God's guidance. It is given by divine inspiration and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness, making us perfectly equipped for good works. We are encouraged to study God's Word prayerfully, allowing it to be our guide and the "man of our counsel." By comparing different texts, we can uncover the hidden meanings and understand God's will more clearly.

Even when certain passages are difficult to understand, their very grandeur and mystery should inspire faith in the Bible as the word of God. Those who approach the Scriptures with humility and a teachable spirit will receive wisdom and discern truth, avoiding deception. This constant learning from God's Word sanctifies the soul and leads to perfect obedience.

Seeking and Receiving Wisdom

A crucial aspect of praising God for His guidance involves actively seeking His wisdom. We are to pray earnestly for the Holy Spirit, which the heavenly Father generously gives to those who ask in faith, without wavering. James 1:5-6 This wisdom is not for self-exaltation, but for benefiting and blessing others. Humility is key; those who rely on God's wisdom and power are strong and happy.

Ministers and workers are especially called to seek divine enlightenment daily, ensuring that their knowledge becomes a power for good and aids in developing Christ-like earnestness. They must also cultivate a teachable spirit and not rely on their own judgment, especially in critical situations. This pursuit of heavenly wisdom allows them to walk in the counsel of God and lead others to the true Source of wisdom.

Cooperation with the Divine

Praising God for His guidance also means actively cooperating with His will. Daniel's example illustrates this beautifully; he waited on a greater Sovereign than Nebuchadnezzar, showing it by purposing in his heart not to depart from God's law. His unwavering commitment led to superior physical and mental strength, enabling him to glorify God through his leadership. This divine and human cooperation is essential for salvation and for carrying out God's great work.

It is vital to submit to God's control in all aspects of life, for only then can we truly glorify Him. When we place ourselves under His discipline and conform our lives to the Savior's pattern, we become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption of the world. This brings joy and a profound sense of oneness with God.

Living a Life of Purpose and Principle

To truly glorify God, our lives must align with our profession. We are bought with a price, and therefore, our bodies and spirits belong to God. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 This means living with stern integrity, seeking to honor God in all we do and say, and putting forth every exertion to improve the privileges and opportunities He provides.

Our purpose should be to be individuals of principle, who meet God's standard, benefit humanity, and honor Him. This involves denying self, taking up the cross, and following Christ's example of self-sacrifice. Mark 8:34 This is true religion, leading to peace, joy, and courage. It also demands that we cleanse ourselves from selfishness and embrace love for God and our neighbors, as this reflects the transforming power of His Spirit.

Humility and Reverence

A deep sense of humility is inherent in walking with God. The closer one gets to God, the greater the contrast between God and oneself, leading to self-abhorrence and repentance. Job 42:5-6 When our souls are humbled in deep contrition, the Lord blesses His people.

Reverence for God is also crucial. His house on earth, where His people meet for worship, is like the gate of heaven to the humble, believing soul. We honor God by creating places where He can be our honored guest, ensuring all interactions reflect our reverence. This reverence extends to our daily lives, making every thought, word, and action align with His will.

In all these ways, we are continually called to praise God for His guidance, acknowledging His sovereignty and working to reflect His character in our lives. Revelation 19:1
