How do you recognize God's voice in a noisy world?

To recognize God's voice, it's essential to diligently study the Scriptures, cultivate a teachable heart, and distinguish His voice from others, especially amidst conflicting messages and worldly influences.
📖 The Bible: God's Voice to Us
The Bible is God's voice speaking to us, just as surely as if we could hear it with our ears. When you open the Guide Book, and there hear God's voice speaking to your senses, you should open your understanding to receive His instruction. The reading and contemplation of the Scriptures should be regarded as an audience with the Infinite One. The written Word of God discerns and proves all things, teaching us our duty day by day. We know the truth by knowing the Word of God, and it is the only safeguard against deception. It is a fatal mistake to think that there is nothing for you to do in obtaining salvation, for you are to cooperate with the agencies of heaven by understanding and obeying His Word.
👂 Hearing and Obeying God's Voice
God requires us to obey the voice of duty, even when there are many other voices around us urging an opposite course. It requires earnest attention to distinguish the voice that speaks from God. We must resist and conquer inclination, and obey the voice of conscience without delay or compromise, lest its promptings cease. The voice of duty is an inborn, heaven-sent guide.
Many who hear and recognize the voice of God refuse to cherish His instruction because it conflicts with their ambitious designs. Their false theories and reasoning are more agreeable and satisfactory, cherished until truth becomes distasteful and covered up with falsehood.
🕊️ The Spirit and Discernment
God's Spirit will pass by those who have had their day of test and opportunity but have not distinguished the voice of God or appreciated the movings of His Spirit. It requires discernment to distinguish the voice of God. Those who have a knowledge of God's Word and the power of His grace are called to consider the needs of the unwarned, responding to His call.
When every other voice is hushed, and in quietness we wait before Him, the silence of the soul makes more distinct the voice of God, bidding us, "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10. Here alone can true rest be found, which is the effectual preparation for all who labor for God.
🙏 Cultivating a Teachable Heart
Those who refuse to walk in the light as God gives it bring upon themselves the terrible crisis of being left to follow their own ways, with their conscience becoming less impressible and the voice of God seeming more distant. A great responsibility rests upon each one who has the privilege of knowing the Word of God. Romans 10:14-15
The mastermind of evil constantly works to keep God's words out of sight and to bring into view the opinions of men, meaning that we shall not hear God's voice saying, "This is the way, walk ye in it." Isaiah 30:21.
In summary, recognizing God's voice involves a humble and teachable spirit, a commitment to daily Scripture study, and a willingness to obey His promptings even when they conflict with personal desires or popular opinions. Joshua 24:24.
