Why Demon Possession Grants Supernatural Physical Strength
Why do demons endow those they control with supernatural strength?
When people are possessed by demons why do they become stronger?

Demons endow those they control with supernatural physical strength because they are powerful, fallen angels who exercise alarming authority over the human family. This strength is a manifestation of the supremacy of the Prince of Darkness when he is permitted to take possession of a mind and body.
Supernatural Power and Control
The Nature of Spirits: Fallen angels and evil spirits possess an inherent power and wisdom that is far superior to that of humans. When they gain control, they can utilize a person's physical frame to manifest a "supernatural strength" that is not naturally their own.
Maniacal Manifestations: This energy is often seen in individuals who become wild and violent maniacs, capable of breaking chains and fetters as they are driven by the devil Luke 8:27-29.
Total Possession: When a person yields their mind to Satan, he considers them his lawful prey and will exercise his power upon them, even against their will. Once he holds them captive, the person often loses the power to free themselves from this overwhelming influence.
The Vulnerability of Humanity
Humans become susceptible to this control when they depart from the right and venture onto the devil’s ground. While we carefully lock our houses to protect our property from evil men, we often forget that evil angels are constantly seeking access to us. In our own strength, we have no method of defense against these attacks; they can distract our minds and torment our bodies if permitted. Satan exults in creating misery and destruction through those he controls.
The Source of Deliverance
While the power of Satan is alarming, it is not absolute when compared to the power of God.
The Power of Christ: Jesus demonstrated His supremacy over the Prince of Darkness by casting out demons and restoring reason to the possessed.
Resistance through Faith: We are commanded to be sober and vigilant because our adversary walks about like a roaring lion 1 Peter 5:8. However, those who resist the devil steadfastly in the faith find that he will flee from them James 4:7.
A Shelter in the Redeemer: Our only safety is to find shelter in the superior power of our Redeemer, as angels that excel in strength are sent from heaven to protect those who follow Him 1 Peter 1:4-5.
Although demon possession can result in a terrifying display of strength, the Holy Spirit provides a different kind of power—the grace and gentleness of Christ that subdues strong feelings and subdues even the most powerful opponents Psalm 18:35.
