Happy Monday! 📖 It is a joy to study today's lesson with you, titled "Unforced but With Power." This study focuses on the heart of why and how we share the gospel with those around us.

Driven by Compassion

Jesus’ tireless ministry of healing, teaching, and preaching was fueled by a deep, heart-felt compassion for the weary and scattered multitudes Matthew 9:36. He looked upon the people not as a crowd, but as sheep having no shepherd Matthew 9:36. This same divine love should be the internal force that compels us to lead souls toward the truth 2 Corinthians 5:14. When we truly experience the love of Christ, His word becomes like a burning fire shut up in our bones that we simply cannot keep to ourselves Jeremiah 20:9.

The Principle of Freedom

While we may feel an urgent burden to share the Gospel, we must strictly mirror the character of Christ by avoiding any form of coercion or force. Forced compliance is entirely contrary to God's nature and aligns instead with the spirit of the adversary. Biblical history shows us that God always respects human choice, as He did in the Garden of Eden by not forcing obedience Genesis 2:16-17. He invited humanity into the ark but did not compel them to enter Genesis 7:1. Even when Jesus wept over Jerusalem, He expressed a longing to gather them together while acknowledging their freedom to refuse Him Matthew 23:37.

Growing as a Conduit for God

To be an effective witness in a world resistant to truth, we must be daily conduits for God’s service through thoughtful and loving interactions. This requires us to "grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" 2 Peter 3:18. Such growth is achieved through daily Scripture study and prayer, which refines our character and prepares us to speak words in season to the weary Isaiah 50:4. Jesus often met physical needs first by healing all manner of sickness, which opened the doors for people to receive spiritual life Matthew 4:23-25. Ultimately, it is through the power of a personal testimony and a life lived for Him that we overcome the enemy Revelation 12:11.

As you go through your day, how can you let the love of Jesus flow through you to someone else in a way that is natural and unforced? Let’s pray for that "fire in the bones" to share His goodness today 😇!
