The Weaponized Table of Lust Throughout History
How has the 'king's table' been weaponized to enfeeble human reason?
THE WORLDLY KING’S TABLE OF LUST HAS BEEN WEAPONIZED… AS IN THE: DAYS OF NOE, BELTESHAZZAR, KING HEROD, AND THE TIME OF THE END
AdventAI
The worldly king’s table of lust has been weaponized across history to enfeeble the mind, dethrone reason, and lead humanity into open rebellion against the God of heaven. This pattern of indulgence and sacrilege was evident in the corruption of the antediluvian world, the blasphemy of Babylon, and the pompous pride of the Herods, serving as a solemn warning for those living in the time of the end.
🌊 The Days of Noah: Unrestrained Indulgence
In the days of Noah, the inhabitants of the world were swept away by the flood because they disregarded the law of God and allowed their imagination to be only evil continually Genesis 6:5. While eating, drinking, and marrying are not inherently sinful, the people of that age carried these lawful things to a high degree of intemperance, making them the supreme objects of life.
Perverted Appetite: The appetite was indulged at the expense of health and reason, corrupting the heart and defiling the earth.
Total Absorption: They were so absorbed in worldly business and pleasure that they "knew not" until the flood came and took them all away Matthew 24:39.
Violence and Crime: The rejection of God's law led to a world filled with violence, where neither marriage nor property rights were respected.
🍷 Belshazzar’s Feast: Sacrilegious Defiance
Belshazzar’s feast represents the height of rebellion, where wealth and power were combined with "maddening influence" to honor false gods.
Desecrating the Sacred: The king commanded the holy vessels from God’s temple to be brought out so that his princes, wives, and concubines could drink wine from them in a riotous orgy Daniel 5:1-4.
Dethroned Reason: Blinded by delusion and wine, Belshazzar's lower impulses were in the ascendancy, leading him to think nothing was too sacred to profane.
The Unseen Watcher: While the revelers praised gods of gold and silver, the God of heaven was a witness to their sacrilege. The appearance of the bloodless hand tracing "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin" on the wall struck terror into the king's sinful heart, signaling the end of his kingdom Daniel 5:5-6.
👑 The Pride and Cruelty of King Herod
King Herod and his successors used feasts and royal display to flatter their own vanity and persecute the people of God.
Herod Antipas and John the Baptist: Dazed with wine and doting on a dancing girl, Herod made a reckless oath that led to the murder of John the Baptist.
Herod Agrippa’s Idolatry: Arrayed in glittering robes of silver and gold, Herod Agrippa I accepted the worship of the multitude who shouted that his voice was that of a god Acts 12:21. Because he did not rebuke this idolatry, he was immediately struck down by an angel and died in great agony.
Mocking the Savior: Herod and his men of war set Jesus at naught, mocking His royal title by arraying Him in a gorgeous robe Luke 23:11.
⌛ The Time of the End: A Call to Vigilance
The condition of the world today mirrors the days of Noah and the night of Belshazzar’s feast, with a similar fascination for lying fables and worldly pleasure.
A Final Warning: The message of Christ’s soon coming is designed to arouse men from their absorption in worldly things and call them to the Lord’s table.
The Snare of Pleasure: Satan uses games, theaters, and perverted appetites to benumb the sensibilities so that people turn a deaf ear to God's entreaties.
The Example of Daniel: Like Daniel, who purposed in his heart not to defile himself with the king’s meat or wine, we must exert our spiritual powers to remain temperate and true to God Daniel 1:8.
We are on the very verge of a time of trouble, where human beings have confederated with satanic agencies to make void the law of God. Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares Luke 21:34. 🛡️✨
